Oregon boasts of now more than 600 wineries and more than 900 vineyards producing 72 varieties of grapes. Most wineries are relatively small, producing fewer than 5,000 cases each. Though small in comparison to the California wine industry, as a group these wineries have consistently received the majority of the industry’s international awards for the state’s primary (by volume) grape, Pinot Noir. If you prefer white, Pinot Gris is the second grape grown in Oregon by volume. These bottles are not readily available outside of Oregon due to production volume.
